Rhinelander School Board presents plan for 2020-21 school year

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WAOW)-- The Rhinalnder School Board presented a plan for the 2020-21 school year during a special meeting Monday night.

The plan includes three levels:

Level One(Green): All in person learning except for those that choose virtual learning.

Level Two(Yellow): The elementary schools would meet in person Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for in person learning. Middle and high school students would meet in person two days a week following the green and gold schedule. Green would be in person Monday and Tuesday with remote learning on Wednesday through Friday. Gold would be in person Thursday and Friday with remote learning Monday through Wednesday. All students would learn remotely on Wednesdays.

Level Three(Red): All grade levels would go in to full remote learning, School staff would report to the schools with safety measures in place.

"I have a really great team that I work with that have been here for a long time I ask that you trust us, another theme is flexibility this plan that we talk about tonight has flexibility as a key ingredient of it," said superintendent Eric Burke.

Burke adds that any parents that have questions or concerns can reach out to his office.

The plan that was presented during the meeting Monday evening will be able to be viewed Tuesday on the district's website.

Questions that were asked by community members during the meeting will be answered via email and will be sent to district teachers and parents.

The board will make a final decision on the plan on August 17.
