WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) -- On Friday, the Marathon Co. Health Department and Wisconsin National Guard will be hosting free COVID-19 testing from 8 am -5 pm.

The event provides drive-through and walk-up style nasal swab testing at Northcentral Technical College, 1000 W Campus Drive, Wausau, in lot E.

Non-English speaking support will be available.

Individuals aged five and older, with or without COVID-19 symptoms, are eligible for testing.

“Testing is a critical tool to slow the spread of COVID-19,” says Joan Theurer, Health Officer for Marathon County. “Our goal is to continue to increase opportunities for those that want to be tested to do so, as well as learn more about how the virus is impacting our residents.”

Results from National Guard testing sites typically return within 3-5 days. Those who have been waiting more than five days for results can contact the newly created Test Result Hotline at -866-419-6988.
