Wedding industry sees changes due to COVID-19 health guidelines

GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Typically, we'd be right in the middle of the wedding season, but this year has been anything but typical.

The pandemic has disrupted the wedding industry.

A man who runs a floral shop and wedding venue in the Green Bay area says it's been difficult for couples who got married, but couldn't have everyone they wanted in attendance.

He tells WBAY many have pushed back their ceremonies.

"We've had over 50 cancellations, reschedules and so forth cumulatively so far for this year alone based on what we do for weddings and events. A lot of those are rescheduled for next year on top of the scheduling that was already sort of trickling in for next year," says Josh Steger of Buds 'n Bloom Design Studio.

He's urging couples who are planning weddings to pick dates now, since vendors and venues are booking into 2022.
