Rally for justice for murdered and missing indigenous women

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) -- A rally for justice was held to bring attention to missing and murdered indigenous women.

Hosted by the organization Red Voice, this small protest is not the first to take place outside of the Marathon County Courthouse, and it may not be the last, as community members continue asking for more awareness and action against human trafficking and in the cases of these missing women.

"Getting that awareness out there and doing the best we can to just get the word out there you know, 'cause a lot of people still don't know what's going on yet or what we're about," says Red Voice president Taylor Owens about the rally's purpose.

The organization is hosting another event, Indian Tacos for a Cause, in support of the family of one of the women, Kozee Decorah, who died earlier this year.
