August arrived with lingering pleasant summer weather, with highs Saturday ranging from the mid 70s to low 80s, and comfortable humidity levels. Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed into northwestern Wisconsin during the afternoon as a cold front approached.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected Sunday especially central and south as the cold front moves through. The day will be much cooler, with breezy north winds at times during the afternoon.
Cool weather will continue through midweek, followed by a gradual warming trend. Other than a slight chance of a shower Monday, most of the week will be dry, with the next chance of showers and storms developing Friday into Saturday.
