Wausau, Wis. (WAOW) -- Governor Evers' statewide mask mandate could change peoples' daily routines, including the choice to go out to bars and restaurants.
Masks will be required in both indoor and outdoor bar and dining areas. Pedro Pineda, the owner of Jalapenos Restaurant and Bar, said he thinks it's a good idea.
"It's a good thing. We need to get the pandemic in control," he said. "The last thing we want is for it to spike up again. "
Pineda said his employees have been wearing masks since the stay at home order began. He said this new mandate probably won't affect business.
He said people should work together to stop the spread.
"Nobody wants this to get any worse. And in order to do that, if they are willing to go out after this goes through with the government, then they're going to have to use it," he said. "And if they don't want to use it, I'm going to assume they choose not to go out. "
While you are required to wear masks in bars and restaurants, you can take them off to eat or drink.
