Wood Co. officials add more locations as possible COVID-19 exposure sites

WOOD CO., Wis. (WAOW) -- The Wood Co. Health Department has received notification of two more possible COVID-19 exposure sites, where people who tested positive for the virus visited during their infectious period.

The following two locations were listed as the latest potential exposure sites:

  • 4 Stools in Wisconsin Rapids on July 21 from 3-9 pm and July 22 from 8 pm - 2 am.
  • St. John's Lutheran Church, Cemetery, and Riverside Park in Pittsville on July 25 from 10 am - 2 pm.

“We have uncontrolled spread of COVID-19 in Wood County. In these times of uncertainty, we are reminded that the simple choices like wearing a mask and practicing physical distancing of at least 6 feet can keep us and our neighbors healthy and our businesses open and safe,” stated Sue Kunferman, Wood County Health Department Director and Health Officer.

The Wood. Co Health Department advises that anyone who may have been exposed should monitor for symptoms, and contact their health provider should COVID-19 symptoms develop.
