Tomahawk Fall ride downtown events canceled

TOMAHAWK, Wis. (WAOW) -- According to a Facebook post from Tomahawk Fall Ride, the downtown events are canceled.

"The Main Street organization took over this event this year and have been fighting to make it happen. But after much public discussion it is just not possible. Other area events are still planning to have events," the post said.

Another psot from Tomahawk Main Street INC. said "after careful consideration, the Tomahawk Main Street (TMS) board of directors has decided to cancel our portion of events for the Downtown Tomahawk Fall Ride this year..."

TMS says that many businesses are moving forward with their own events, and that they will continue to offer their support to those businesses.

TMS President Andrea Krueger said, "There's many facets to fall ride. Tomahawk Main Street did not cancel fall ride." Bubba's Big Bash has not cancelled in live music is still set for the area.

In June, MDA canceled its portion of Fall Ride at SARA Park.
