MERRILL, Wis. (WAOW)- You may have heard the saying "adopt don't shop" and the Lincoln County Humane Society said they have been really lucky getting people to adopt during the pandemic.
If staying at home these past couple of months made you realize you might want a furry friend, you are not alone.
The animals at the Lincoln County Humane Society are not staying long thanks to more people being at home and taking the time to do more research about which furry animal they might want to bring home.
"There were times when we had one dog here at a time and that was unprecedented for us its been going really well and we haven't had any returns at this point as if people were initially adopting because of lock down and now bringing them back because things opened back up," said Liz Friendenfels the manager.
She said research is key when it comes to adopting an animal. You may like a certain breed but you want to make sure they match your lifestyle.
If you are interested in adopting the humane society is allowing people in by appointment.
