(WAOW) -- The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) is seeking participants in it's "Wear a Mask" campaign.

"The ADRC-CW believes in being proactive to help keep older adults, adults with disabilities, and the entire community, safe and healthy," a press release from ADRC-CW said. "Therefore, the 'Wear a Mask' campaign is a contest encouraging and collaborating with residents throughout the ADRC-CW region (Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood counties) to promote wearing masks."

Currently, the CDC reccomends mask wearing during the pandemic to reduce virus spread. The ADRC-CW said they're trying to "support and encourage the recommendations from the CDC by promoting mask wearing in public where social distancing is made difficult."

The contest is simple: sending in a "selfie" while wearing a mask, along with a slogan to promote mask wearing. Adults aged 60 or older, as well as any adult aged 18-59 with disabilities are eligible to participate.

Submissions can be sent to o The ADRC-CW will select four photos and slogans out of the submissions to use on billboards throughout the region.

"Our community members will see themselves, friends, or family on the billboards, which will help to promote the importance of mask wearing to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19," the press release said.
