Central Wisconsin Storm coach Pete Susens retires
WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) - Pete Susens is calling it quits once again.
Once the head coach for Wausau West for 36 years, Susens came out of reitrement in 2015 to take over the co-op team Central Wisconsin Storm.
He officially retired this week, said James Sekel, athletic director for D.C. Everest.
Susens had an incredibly successful run with the Storm, compiling a 89-25-4 regular season record over the past five seasons.
He led the Storm to four state tournaments, and won a state title in the 2016-17 season.
Susens' run with the Storm adds to his already stacked resume. He compiled a record of 573-234-25 with Wausau West, and was inducted into the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012.
