UPDATED:Report: Brewers, Yelich close to 9-year, $215 million deal

It looks like the Brewers will lock up their superstar for the foreseeable future.

According to a report from Ken Rosenthal and the Athletic, the Brewers and 2018 MVP Christian Yelich, are close to a deal that would be for nine years total and worth roughly $215 million.

Rosenthal reports that deal would put Yelich at about $27 million per year, still more than $8 million behind Mike Trout, baseball's highest paid player.

Rosenthal reports the deal is expected to be announced Friday.
