New study puts Wisconsin as fifth-drunkest state

(WKOW) -- A new study is looking into the heaviest drinking states in America and Wisconsin ranks high on the list. released the study Tuesday, titled The Drunkest States in America which uses the most recent data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the FBI, among others.

Other key findings in Wisconsin

Wisconsin ranked third in the percentage of adults who drink, at 66.71 percent. The study also said 33.3 percent of Wisconsinites binge-drink.

Each year, Wisconsinites consume just under three gallons of alcohol.
