(WPTA) - A lunchtime staple from the '90s is making a comeback this summer: Dunkaroos.
That's according to verified social media accounts and a General Mills blog posted Monday.
“We’re thrilled to relaunch Dunkaroos in the U.S. after years of it only being available in Canada,” says Jeff Caswell, president of Snacks at General Mills.
“For those who grew up in the ‘90s, the original cookie-frosting combo represents the taste, color and fun of being a kid during that decade. We know there’s a lot of love for Dunkaroos, and fans everywhere have been asking for it. We’re excited to help ‘90s kids relive all the best parts of childhood.”
Dunkaroos first introduced the graham cookie and frosting combo to grocery stores in 1992.
They discontinued the snack in 2012 in the US.
While fans in Canada have been able to enjoy the treat more recently, dedicated Dunkaroos fans in the U.S. have been begging for the return of their favorite snack.
Following years of rumors and speculation, Dunkaroos is making an epic comeback with the most requested and beloved Dunkaroos flavor, Vanilla Cookies and Vanilla Frosting with Rainbow Sprinkles.
