Wisconsin’s Kobe King to leave program

Wisconsin redshirt sophomore Kobe King has decided to leave the program, the university tweeted this afternoon.

King was averaging 10 points and 2.8 rebounds per game during the season, which included 19 starts.

News first broke Monday, when King didn't travel with the Badgers to Iowa to face the Hawkeyes. The university said he was attending to a personal matter, but a report from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal indicated King was frustrated with the direction of the team.

Wisconsin is 12-9 on the season, and 7th in the Big Ten with a 5-5 conference record.
