Merrill (WAOW) -- Semling Menke Company is closing the Semco plant in Merrill, according to a letter sent to employees from the president of the company.

The letter says the decision was made because of a lack of orders, insufficient cash and the inability to sell the company.

All employees were terminated as of Dec. 31, 2019.

The Department of Workforce Development says 141 employees will be impacted, however, a letter from the president says 120 employees.

This is a developing story.
