WAUSAU (WAOW)-- IFLEED Institute of Math and Science integrates science, technology, art, and math (STEAM) into the fun activities inspired by the Dr. Suess classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" with 'The Science of Christmas with the Grinch.'
'The Science of Christmas with the Grinch' sessions challenge children to make Grinch slime and create a sleigh able to haul the gifts the Grinch stole up to his mountain home.
"We give them what they need, just enough. Because we want that creativity mind, that thinking mind to come out. If it works its great, if it doesn't work, hey I tried," said Shanthi Ayyadhury, founder of IFLEED.
IFLEED is considered the first STEAM program offered in Marathon county providing classes for kids ages 4 to 14-years-old.
Ayyadhury believes IFLEED can unlock the potential in every child with education based activities.
"They are born geniuses, we just have to capitalize on that," said Ayyadhury.
IFLEED offers courses throughout the year at its location in Wausau. Course packages last 8 to 9 weeks covering a variety of topics from coding to forensic science.
The 'Science of Christmas' costs $10 and is held at Janke Bookstore in downtown Wausau.
There is two session happening for the event one at 10:00 a.m. and another at 1:00 p.m.
The first session is for children in grades K-3, the second for grades 4-6.
