The weekend will trend warmer, with plenty of cloud cover. There will be a chance of light snow or flurries especially north of Wausau overnight into early Saturday morning with a few flurries possible south. Breezy south winds will develop later Saturday and continue into Sunday morning. Flurries and some freezing drizzle will be possible north of Wausau Saturday night and Sunday. A cold front is expected to slide across the area Sunday.
Snow is forecast Sunday night and Monday, with accumulations of 2-5 inches in our area. Breezy northeast to north winds Monday will bring colder air into the area, as well as possibly lead to some blowing and drifting of the snow.
Very cold weather will then be with us through Thursday, with some moderation at the end of the week. Rather low wind chill values are expected Tuesday night and Wednesday. Snow showers or flurries will be possible Tuesday. Light snow or flurries could occur Friday as somewhat warmer air returns to the state.
Have a wonderful weekend! Meteorologist Mike Breunling
