Police: Officer stabbed before shooting student at Oshkosh West High School

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- Police say stabbing and shooting injuries of school resource officer and student not expected to be life-threatening.

From Oshkosh Police:

"There has been an officer involved shooting at Oshkosh West high school. The school is currently locked down and parents can be reunited with their children at Perry Tipler Middle school. A student was armed with a weapon and confronted a school resource officer. The student and officer were both injured and transported to local hospitals. Only one student was injured. This incident is being turned over to The state department of criminal investigations who will conduct the investigation, there will be more information released as it becomes available."


Police are at the scene of a weapons incident at Oshkosh West High School, according to our radio partner WHBY.

WBAY has received calls from parents about a possible evacuation at the school. We are working to confirm this information.

We don't yet know what type of weapon was involved in the incident.

UW-Oshkosh Police sent out a Titan Alert saying Oshkosh Police are investigating an "emergency situation at a City of Oshkosh school." They said there was no danger to UWO.
