**Winter Storm Watch Price, Iron, Ashland counties Friday evening through Sunday afternoon**
Today: Peeks of sun early otherwise mostly cloudy.
High: 31 Wind: N to NE around 5
Low: 24 Wind: E 2-5
Quiet weather for Thanksgiving, but another storm system will impact the area throughout the weekend.
High pressure building into the area will bring dry conditions to the region today, but after the heavy rain and snow yesterday there are some icy spots on roads where water was ponding. So be careful traveling on city streets. After a few peeks of sun this morning, thicker cloud cover will move in during the second half of the day. Winds won’t be as breezy as yesterday, but temps will only rise into the low 30s.
Cloudy skies will continue on Friday with a few flurries or patchy light snow showers possible during the day, but the better chance of heavier precipitation will hold off until Friday evening/night. It’ll likely begin as snow before mixing with sleet, rain, and freezing rain overnight. A dusting to 2 inches of sleet/snow will be possible by Saturday morning. Saturday looks very messy with a wintry mix of rain/sleet/snow continuing at times. Precipitation will likely remain all snow in the Northwoods. Winds will be breezy as well. Any wintry mix should change over to all snow Saturday night into Sunday, with the potential for heavy snow once again in the Northwoods. A WINTER STORM WATCH has already been posted for Ashland, Iron, and Price counties from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Travel will likely become difficult due to this storm, especially Saturday night into Sunday.
Quiet weather will return to the area to start next week with skies becoming partly cloudy on Monday. More clouds will mix with the sun on Tuesday and Wednesday with the potential for isolated flurries. Temps will be near normal in the upper 20s to low 30s.
