WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW)– The Humane Society of Marathon County is giving people in the community a chance to show some love and care to animals on Thanksgiving.
‘Furry Friendsgiving’ serves as a way for people to give the animals some company and comfort during the holidays, even if without a home.
“When I decided to do this, I was hoping the shelter would be so full and there wouldn’t be any room for anybody to go and that has happened within the first five minutes which is awesome,” Executive Director Lisa Leitermann said. “Our community is so great and we’re always thankful for that.”
Lisa adds with how popular the event this year was, they definitely plan on doing this event next year.
