News 9 says goodbye to Meteorologist Sam Kuffel

Meteorologist Sam Kuffel has worked at WAOW for the past three and half years and Tuesday morning she shared some bittersweet news on Wake Up Wisconsin.

Sam announced she will be leaving WAOW and moving onto a new opportunity at CBS 58 in Milwaukee.

Her final day will be Thanksgiving. We will miss her so much but wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

Here’s a message from Sam herself,

“Unfortunately my time at WAOW is coming to an end. These last three and a half years have been a blessing, and I was truly lucky to be able to start my career in my home state and become a part of the central Wisconsin community. I want to thank you, the viewers, for welcoming me into your homes every day with open arms and dealing with my growing pains along the way. Between the countless school presentations, station tours, and just out in the community, it was an honor to be able to meet so many of you. My goal when I started here was to be able to do three things in my weather presentations: inform, protect, and educate, and I’m hoping I accomplished that (and taught you all some fun weather terms along the way). I also wanted to say a big thank you to Justin, Mike, and Tony for taking a chance on me right out of college, and welcoming me into the weather department with open arms. I was extremely lucky to be able to start my career with the best weather team in the area that treated me like an equal part of the team from day one. I will truly miss you all, but as a Wisconsinite I will no doubt come back to visit. -Sam Kuffel.”
