Former Blossoms and Bows owner gets a new gig

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — Blossoms and Blows burned down with the Rainbow Coin Laundry in April, taking with it the flowers and files that made Charmaine Prewitt’s business.

“One moment you have a job and have put your heart and soul into the business for all of those years and all of a sudden you have nothing,” said Prewitt.

She has been a florist in Central Wisconsin for 45 years, opening her first business with her husband in 1974.

“Working with flowers and people, it’s a wonderful combination,” she said. A florist goes through the ups and downs of life. They use flowers to welcome children into the words and say final goodbyes.

Occasionally, they take part in new beginnings.

This week, Prewitt took over Trig’s Floral in Wausau. She calls it a “God moment.”

The former head has worked at the store for 15 years and had been looking for the right person to take her spot.

Now, Prewitt continues to bring beauty to Central Wisconsin, on our happy days and our hard ones.
