Stratford, Edgar advance to State Championship

The Stratford Tigers and Edgar Wildcats will get the chance to play for a gold ball next week in Madison.

The Tigers, Division 5’s top ranked team, took down the second ranked team, Amherst, 19-7 tonight at Steihm Stadium.

Stratford’s streak of 12 straight shutouts came to an end when Amherst scored in the 3rd quarter.

They’ll play Lake County Lutheran Thursday at 4 p.m.

The Wildcats will play in the Division 7 game, after dispatching Bangor 27-7.

Edgar will take on Black Hawk/Warren at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Abbotsford, playing in the Division 6 semifinal, fell to Regis by a score of 36-6.
