MOSINEE (WAOW) – A Mosinee man with a passion for the Wisconsin River is our Jefferson Award honoree.
“I grew up in Wisconsin Dells and always researched the river,” Al Erickson said. “It was always special to me.”
He wanted to pass on what he learned.
“I thought it would be fun to have a festival around it,” Erickson said.
The idea became a reality when he organized the Little Bull Falls LogJam Festival in Mosinee.
It has a living history encampment–highlighting the fur trading and logging history along the river.
The festival features also food vendors, bands and other exhibits.
“None of it possible without the organizational skills of Al,” Ray Glazner said.
