Decreasing clouds today with cool weather settling in for the remainder of the week.
Some light snow moved through the area last night, especially south of the Wausau area. However that snow quickly moved off to the northeast, leaving us with partly cloudy skies to start the day. Skies will turn mostly sunny by this afternoon with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. More clouds will stream into the southern part of the area tonight, while skies stay mainly clear to the north. Low in the Northwoods could fall into the low teens, while upper teens to low 20s are expected Wausau southward. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Wednesday with highs in the mid 30s.
A low pressure system will be tracking to the east of the state on Halloween, but models are coming into more of an agreement that most of the accumulating snow will fall across southern and eastern Wisconsin. Some of these snow showers may make it into areas south and east of Wausau and mix with rain in the afternoon before coming to an end during the evening. Highs reach the low to mid 30s. Snow showers will be possible across the northern half of the state on Friday with partly to mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid to upper 30s.
Snow showers will be possible at times both Saturday and Sunday, especially across the far north where there could be some lake effect. Otherwise temps will be chilly in the mid 30s Saturday then rise to around 40 on Sunday. Spotty snow showers and cool temps will continue into the beginning of next week.
