Sunny and mild weather continues for a couple more days.
After a chilly and frosty start to the day in spots, we’ll see another day full of sunshine and mild temperatures topping out in the mid to upper 60s. Winds will be a bit more breezy today, gusting up to 25 mph. Winds will remain between 5-10 mph tonight, which will keep temperatures warmer overnight in the 40s. Besides a few scattered clouds in the area on Wednesday, it’ll be another nice and breezy day with highs in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees. Clouds will start to increase Wednesday night as a strong fall storm develops to our west. More clouds and southerly winds will hold temperatures around 50 degrees overnight.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Thursday, but rain should hold off until late afternoon/early evening. Winds will stay breezy with highs in the mid 60s. Temperatures won’t fall much Thursday night as the low pressure system tracks through Minnesota, keeping us on the warm side of the storm through the first half of Friday. Waves of rain and isolated rumbles of thunder are expected Friday until the cold front moves through during the second half of the day. This will cause temperatures to reach their high around 60 degrees in the morning, and then fall through the 50s into the 40s during the afternoon. Winds behind this front could gust up to 40 mph through Friday night.
Much colder air will move into the area behind the front through the weekend with lows falling close to the freezing mark Friday night. Right now it looks like we’ll have a break in the precipitation for a bit Friday night before light rain and snow showers develop Saturday morning. These will continue off and on throughout the day, especially in the Northwoods. Light snow showers are expected Saturday night and will become more isolated on Sunday, perhaps mixing with light rain again. Very small accumulations will be possible through the weekend, with the best chance being in the Northwoods. Highs on Saturday will be around 40 degrees, with upper 30s expected Sunday. Winds will remain blustery through the weekend as well. This system finally moves away on Monday, but clouds and cool air will linger with highs in the mid 40s.
