PLOVER (WAOW)– A group of volunteers spent part of Monday night cleaning up a road in Portage County.
The volunteers are a part of Ignite Portage County which is a group for personal and professional development for young adults in Portage County.
They cleaned a two mile stretch of County Road HH between Post Road and County Road R.
“Highway HH runs right between Stevens Point and Plover which are two of the largest cities in Portage County. Us being Ignite Young Professionals, it makes sense for us to do something that not only promotes ourselves but also cleans up the community to show that we want to make it better and make it the best that it can be,” said Jeanna Trzebiatowski who is the chair of the community committee with Ignite.
The county provided garbage bags, gloves, safety vests, and signs. County highway trucks will pick up the garbage bags that were left on the side of the road.
