Wisconsin Humane Society rescues cats in path of Hurricane Dorian

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — Animals that had to be evacuated from Florida because of Hurricane Dorian are taking refuge in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Humane Society welcomed 33 cats from Florida.

They had already been in a shelter in Florida, searching for homes.

Their evacuation opened up space for other animals in the Florida shelter that may need to be rescued.

Some of the cats that are now in Wisconsin are available for adoption, others will need treatment.

The humane society is now asking for donations to help with the rescue effort.
