The new stadium costs nearly $11.2 million. It will be benefiting more than just the student athletes.
“We have the potential of our high school students having this facility as a beautiful outdoor P.E. classroom,” said Ryan Christianson, Superintendent of Marshfield’s School District. “We have programming going on within our business technology departments. We have things like the game day productions opportunities that our students doing computer work are going to be able to benefit from by using the display board that we have at the stadium here.”
Today was the first time the Marshfield football team was able to practice on the new field. It will be their first home football game this Friday on new turf in nearly 80 years.
“It’s a new home for us and a new place to start a tradition,” said Dennis Goettl, Marshfield’s football head coach. “Everybody in our school is going to be using it, so it’s our school, our community. It’s who we are and what we want to represent.”
