RINGLE (WAOW)- The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department has handed the bunker where a fugitive lived for three years over to the Department of Natural Resources.
Jeremiah Button had been missing since 2016 after failing to appear in court for numerous charges for sex crimes.
That all changed with authorities found Button on August 9.
Now, the DNR is trying to restore the site where the bunker was so people can walk through it.
Inside there were possible pieces of evidence which were taken for further investigation
The DNR said its goal is to have everything gone by Thursday. The group is working with the local landfill to sort out recyclables.
