The weather will be a little on the cool side for today but more Summer-like conditions will develop later in the week. Along with warmer temps, there could be a bit of thunderstorm activity late in the week.

A few showers will be in the southern and western parts of the viewing area this morning, mainly southwest of Marathon county. Clouds will linger through midday in many locations before the sun breaks out a little more. Because of the clouds, most locations will have highs in the low 70s which is a little below normal for this time of year. A few spots in the north might have highs in the mid 70s because there will be more sun in those areas. Winds will be out of the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Scattered cloud will linger overnight and some patchy fog could develop around daybreak tomorrow morning, otherwise Thursday is looking like a pretty nice Summer day with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70s. There is only a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon or early evening on Thursday.

A trough of low pressure and warm front moving in from the west on Friday will bring more clouds and a good chance of scattered showers and storms. With highs only in the 70s once again, it will not be too conducive for severe weather, but you will want an umbrella handy if you do have some outdoor activities planned.

Temps will warm up over the weekend with highs reaching the upper 70s to around 80. A cold front will move in from the northwest at some point, but it is a little unclear whether it will arrive Saturday evening or more into Sunday morning. There will be at least a 50% chance of thunderstorms when the front moves through and there will be a small chance of severe weather.

Early next week even warmer weather will develop. Under partly cloudy skies, high temps will be in the 80s from Monday through Wednesday.
