Police: 1-year-old twins in car during heroin overdose in Lincoln Co.

Lincoln Co. (WAOW) — Three people are facing charges after two children are found inside a car during a heroin overdose, according to police.

Officials say they responded to a medical emergency August 6. Inside the car, they found Cheryl Alexander, Winslow Helsper, Tashina Alexander and Tashina’s 1-year-old twins.

The three are from Hayward and told police they were coming back from Langlade Co. for a court appearance.

Police say first responders had to use narcan to resuscitate Cheryl.

Inside the car, police say they found 12.5 grams of heroin.

Each of them are facing several charges including possession of heroin with intent to deliver.

Tashina is facing child neglect charges as well.
