World Cross Stitch Day celebrated in Wausau

WAUSAU Wis. (WAOW) — It was World Cross Stitch Day on Friday.

A mother-daughter team from Cincinnati that goes by the name “Just Keep Stitchin'” on YouTube, celebrated with fans of the craft at Needle Workshop in Wausau.

The pair travel the world meeting with other stitching enthusiasts. On Friday, they met fans from Madison, Appleton and even Milwaukee, who traveled to Wausau just to meet them.

Stephanie Schaffner – the daughter in the pair – said, “[My mom] tried to get me into it when I was like 8 and I was like ‘I’m Good.’ ” Fast forward to years, later, Schaffner said, she picked up stitching and never looked back.

The tent sale at Needle Workshop in Wausau will be going on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
