WESTON, Wis (WAOW)– The Weston community is partnering with local law enforcement to help fight crime and drugs.
Several first responders from the community came together to put on the National Night Out event, the first in Weston since 2007.
There were kids games and activities, including face painting and a dunk tank to dunk police officers. Food was also available through the Everest Area Optimist Club.
The night gives area law enforcement the chance to grow relationships with the community they protect and serve.
“Just to show basically the community and people who live in this area that we’re willing to do what we need to to make this a safer better place to live.. you know we’re trying to work on positive relationships with the community and people who live here because we work with them every single day,” said Community Service Officer Kou Moua with the Everest Metro Police Department.
The South Area Fire District, Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, Everest Metro Police Department and the Rothschild Police Department were all at the event.
