PRICE COUNTY (WAOW) — Officials are still investigating a Monday report of animal mishandling at a farm in the Township of Omega.
According to a press release from Price County, responding officers “found numerous dead
animals on the farm that were not properly buried.”
A veterinarian was called in to evaluate the health status of animals on the farm, per the release, with two animals being euthanized and all deceased animals being buried on-site. An additional dog was removed from the farm after receiving medical care, the release adds.
Price County is still working with the farm’s owners to help provide proper care for the remaining animals. Potential charges include violations of state law and county ordinances pertaining to proper animal care, abandonment of animals and disposal of dead animals.
