Measles warning for Central Wisconsin residents thinking of travelling

WAUSAU (WAOW) — The measles virus continues to be a concern across the county, and experts believe it could be an issue for travelers.

The virus spreads easily through coughing and sneezing, posing a threat to people in close quarters like airplanes, boats or trains.

Travel Leaders, a travel agency in Wausau, recommends you check with your doctor to make sure you’re up to date on vaccinations. The manager at Travel Leaders also said you can check the CDC website for more information.

The measles virus can cause serious illness and even death.
