Man who received new kidney thanks to ‘Share Your Spare’ T-shirt to throw out first pitch at Brewers game

(WISN) — A Walworth County man who wore a T-shirt to a Brewers game saying he needed a new kidney will throw out the first pitch at a Brewers game.

On April 3, 2018, a photo of Lenny Zwieg wearing a T-shirt that said “Share Your Spare,” at a Brewers game went viral. The back of the shirt said, “Father of 3 needs a kidney, blood type O.”

He found out in October that a donor had been found and had a transplant in November.

Zwieg will throw out the first pitch on April 7 when the Brewers host the Cubs. He said that he has also been invited back in June for the Pittsburgh series when everyone in the donation chain will be in Milwaukee.
