Wood Turning Club makes a donation to Never Forgotten Honor Flight

WESTON (WAOW)–  The DC Everest Junior High wood turning club is donating sixty handmade veteran honor pens to leaders of the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

The students handcrafted the pens to honor the sacrifice and service of area veterans. The idea came from a teacher who’s father-in-law went on an honor flight two years ago. The project also gives the kids a chance to work with others.

“I’m really proud of all the students that come in here because they work together, they normally wouldn’t be the type of people that hangout together at lunch or do things like that but when they come into this classroom they know they’re doing something good for our community,” said Stacy Heise a technology education teacher at DC Everest Junior High.

The pens will be given to the veterans that are on the April 8th Honor Flight.
