UPDATE: Nearly 4,000 pigs killed in Buffalo County fire

UPDATE:
Buffalo County (WQOW) – Nearly 4,000 pigs were killed in a barn fire this morning near Mondovi.

According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office there were 4,000 pigs in the barn and they believe most of them died.

Firefighters were called to scene at 5:40 a.m.

Authorities say a portion of the barn collapsed overnight before the fire started.

 – Multiple crews are responding to a barn fire in Mondovi on Gonty Road.

Officials say they were called on the scene at 5:40 a.m.

The roads around the barn are blocked off.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire or if animals were inside.
