The Newman Catholic Cardinals girls basketball team is working its way towards a state tournament berth in Green Bay.
And they’re doing so in big part because of our Athlete of the Week: Jadelyn Ganski.
The junior averages more than 15 points and nearly nine rebounds a game, and is a threat from both inside and out.
Ganski’s quiet leadership off the court and strong leadership on it has the Cardinals believing a trip to state is possible.
“She always finds a way to contribute, and she does so much for us. She’ll block a shot, grab the rebound, push it up, pull the three and find someone in open transition. It’s just so many things she brings to this team. She alters shots so many times that teams don’t want to come into the lane, and teams have to guard her outside with their big, which is a matchup nightmare for most coaches,” said head coach Jason Vanden Elzen.
