Charter services restored after unrelated pair of accidents

UPDATE: Charter services were restored last night and into the early morning hours, as each fiber optic line was repaired.


Businesses in Marathon County were impacted by the Spectrum outage on a busy Valentine’s Day.

Sweet Lola’s in Downtown Wausau said they had trouble with their credit card machine all day. Many business in Rib Mountain were also impacted by the outage.

Texas Roadhouse said their TV service wasn’t working, Granite Peak’s phone lines were down and the Rib Mountain Tap House said their internet was slow all day.

Many News 9 viewers also commented on a Facebook post, saying they had issues with their service as well.

Spectrum customers in parts of Central Wausau and surrounding areas may be experiencing a temporary service disruption caused by two unrelated third-party vehicular accidents. Spectrum is on the scene making the necessary repairs as quickly as possible, and we appreciate our customers’ patience.

(WAOW) —Charter Spectrum subscribers in central Wisconsin are without internet service after the company suffered an outage Thursday.

A Charter representative issued a statement to News 9 on the matter, saying:

“Spectrum customers in parts of Central Wausau and surrounding areas may be experiencing a temporary service disruption caused by two unrelated third-party vehicular accidents. Spectrum is on the scene making the necessary repairs as quickly as possible, and we appreciate our customers’ patience.”
