Mosinee’s volleyball team has been on a tear as of late. The Indians have earned the “W” in 12 of their last 14 games and even though Tuesday’s match against Wausau West did not end in a victory, it did for Hanna Nest.
Mosinee’s outside hitter reached her 1,000th kill in her high school career in that match. A big milestone for the senior, but she is not taking any of the credit.
Nest says she would not have gotten to this level if it were not for her coaches and teammates.
Surprisingly, 1,000 kills was not something Nest was striving for. In fact, she did not know she was close to reaching that achievement until recently.
“I never really thought about it…it was never really my goal,” Nest said. “I have always been more team oriented. I never really thought about [1,000 kills] before this year until my coach brought it up, but I think it’s pretty exciting because all of my hard work and all of my teams’ hard work has finally paid off and it’s just really exciting.”
Nest is now just the second person in school history to reach 1,000 kills.
