Just a few days before the anniversary of the Sept.11 attacks fire fighters and community members gathered in Kronenwetter to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Hundreds took to the course Saturday morning to run in honor of those who lost their lives in the attacks.
Dozens of firefighters put on their turnout gear for the run.
"It’s a good way for people to get together and honor people who have risked their life to save people in need and in an emergency," said Rodney Brockman the fire chief for the Remington Volunteer Fire Department.
This was the fourth annual Run for the Fallen.
75 percent of the proceeds will benefit programs of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
