Tonight’s Countdown to Kickoff takes us to Rhinelander to take a look at the Hodags.
They finished their season last year just 3-6, but head into 2018 with plenty of momentum.
The Hodags won their last two conference games of the 2017 season.
One important goal is making sure improvement is made each time the team steps on the field.
And they say, being a close-knit group will help achieve that goal.
"I think we have a really strong bond together in the way that we practice. And the way we lift each other up is really strong," said linebacker Isaiah Piosalan.
"Our motto this year is walking the path, and our guys are walking the path. There’s only one way ahead, they’re walking one step every day. Every time they step on the field, they have to get better. That’s what we’re looking at, we’re looking at them becoming better men, better athletes, better part of their family. We’re looking for that every single day, and these guys have been walking the path," said Head Coach Chris Ferge.
