Our countdown to kickoff heads to one of the state’s most dominant programs in recent years.
The Edgar Wildcats are led by their Head Coach Jerry Sinz, who begins his 45th year at the helm. The wildcats fell in the level three playoffs last year to the eventual state champion Bangor.
This year Sinz and company look to get back to their state champion ways.
"Well I like the enthusiasm," said Sinz. "It’s been good, we have pretty good leadership because we got a lot of skill players back. We always have a goal to win the conference and then to win state, fortunately we’ve done that quite a few times in the past, so that’s pretty much always the expectation."
Winning state would be a dream to Sinz’s senior Tight End and Linebacker, Brock Handrick.
"Ever since I was young I always wanted to be in these footsteps and now it’s finally here," said Handrick. "With Edgar having so much tradition we obviously want to come out with a gold ball every year."
