STEVENS POINT (WAOW)- Stevens Point police seek new clues that could lead to an arrest of a man who attacked a woman walking down a city sidewalk.
It happened July 1, about 3 a.m. along the 2700 and 2800 block of Church Street, as the woman talked on her phone with a friend.
"He heard her say, ‘Stop, get away from me,’" Sgt. Tony Zblewski said. "He heard this happening and knew where she was and came to find her and got her to the hospital."
The 28-year-old woman suffered a skull fracture, concussion and two broken facial bones and has little memory of the attack, investigators said.
"She remembers a man in his 20s, with dark hair approaching her and speaking Spanish," Zblewski said. "She said she put up her hand to defend herself and then hit the ground."
